Every person engaged or intending to engage in any calling, business, occupation or profession in whole or in part, within the limits of the City of Ridgecrest, CA, is required to pay an annual license tax for the privilege of doing business and obtain a business license.

Business licenses are renewed annually. All licenses expire December 31st of the calendar year. Renewal notices are mailed out in November, and the due date is no later than December 31st. All payments that are received February 1st or thereafter are considered late and will be charged a late fee.

If you are located in the City of Ridgecrest but work from your home, you will need to complete the Business License Application FY23, and you will also need a Home Occupation permit from the Building Department.
You can submit a completed Business License Change Form and we will process the changes within 2-3 business days.
*Please note that there is $3.00 fee if your changes affect the face of the Business License.
