On March 11, 2021, the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) was signed into law, which provides one-time fiscal relief funds to State and Local Governments and other program areas aimed at mitigating the continuing effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Funds must be obligated by December 31, 2024, and funds must be expended by December 31, 2026.
Under ARPA, the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (SLFRF) was established and $6.9 million was awarded to the City of Ridgecrest made in two installments in July 2021 and July 2022. An ARPA Workshop was held at the City Council meeting on November 17th, 2021 to review potential projects for funding. View the slide deck below for a detailed project overview.
